The heart of Occupational Therapy lies in the OT practitioner's ability to recognize and impact self-care limitations.  Early intervention is best practice.    Youthcentrix™ Occupational Therapy addresses self-care across the domains of life affected by mental health and/or social and emotional needs.  We facilitate youths' ability to perform self-care functions at their highest level of age-appropriate independence.

Youthcentrix™ Occupational Therapy builds youth capacity with:

Self-Maintenance Performance:
A person's ability to care for themselves at an age-appropriate level of function.  This includes a youth's ability to take care of age-appropriate basic self-care.

Work-Related Performance:
A person's ability to set and meet expectations of work quality, productive output, and meaningful goals.

Recreational and Leisure Performance:
We often forget that children/youth best learn through play.  Play is the primary occupation (job) for many years of life.  As we mature, "occupation" becomes more other-directed and productivity-oriented.  Despite this pattern, recreation remains a meaningful form of self-expression throughout life.
